Spinsista Mitzi hails from Cape Town and started out as a fabulous barman in the famous Bronx Action Bar where she coined the name 'Mitzi'. Blessed with a passion for music & the arts, she starred in weekly cabaret shows with different troupes, and it wasn't long before she slipped behind the DJ booth where the 'Spinsista' name was added and a legend was born.

 

For five years Spinsista worked the Cape Town gay scene - Bronx, Angels, Detour (BAD) clubs but wanted more, and moved on to more progressive clubs to play alongside the best Cape Town DJ's.

 

After playing most of the gay venues in and around Cape Town for well over 10 years, as well as annual MCQP events, local and national gay pride after-parties, Spinsista decided on going into private events and working for herself.

 

These days she is available for corporate/ private events - catering for all types of needs such as weddings, birthday parties, etc - and never fails to bring her very own vivacious and energetic style to the occasion. With a vast collection of uplifting house, frisky disco tunes and club anthem remixes, she sets the perfect atmosphere for any celebratory occasion.

 

She is also an icon in 'the Dirrty' - an online space, having gained notoriety for her monthly podcasts available for free download, and is constantly figuring out new ways of being creative and pushing the boundaries within her music scene.
